The basic lack in the numbers of, Mozambique’s casinos is in one sense kind of puzzling, in one way or another.
In years gone by, the city was a destination where a lot of South Africans would drop by to detach themselves from the considerably confining standards on gaming (and, it has to be said, mixing with other races) that they had at home. As a result, you are likely to expect a picture of a thriving area to cater to that tourist sector.
Still, perhaps it is not all that much of a discovery. The state is one of the most destitute worldwide, having been through a horrible civil war (followed by devastating floods) from which it is still, very slowly, rebounding. This might make a spot lesser of a tourist location, as much as there is at the moment a inviting view along a number of the state’s attractive beaches.
It is added to that credible that regionally at the very least, Mozambique’s casinos have had to cross with casinos in the recently liberalized South Africa, inclusive of the prominent Sun City founded by the Kerzner family management.
Here’s a list of Casinos in Mozambique:
Maputo: Polana Casino Hotel
There are 78 slot machines as well as video poker games, 5 tables of American roulette, 4 blackjack tables, also 1 poker table.
Namaacha: Sol Libombos Hotel Casino
There are 40 slot machines, American roulette, and also two tables for poker as well as punto banco.
It is thought that over time the whole tourism sector in Mozambique will progress greatly. While the local languages are, evidently, African, there is as well the portion of Portuguese from the old colonial power and the new and growing origin of English, both from South Africa and as part of the global phenomenon. The country is very cheap (evidently, as it is so poor) and as above, has some of the most stunning beaches on the globe, fronting onto the Indian Ocean. Those are the kinds of elements that make tourism management drool, and as the country climbs out of its existing slump, it is likely that not only will tourism grow, but that the list of Mozambique’s casinos will grow longer as well.
While the country is doubtful to ever reclaim its distinction as a location for partying South Africans, as there are now other choices closer to home for them to revel in, the growth of a long distance tourism industry is being planned. This would be to serve Europeans seeking winter sun, as a getaway from the bleakness of the Northern Hemisphere winter. Additionally, of course, the greatest prawns (shrimp) across the globe are just offshore, in the Mozambique Channel.
